Who can buy from us
You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase from backbenchtheory.com. By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If you are purchasing on behalf of someone under 18, you as the adult take full responsibility for the transaction.
We sell and ship within India only. Orders placed with delivery addresses outside India will not be processed and will be cancelled.
Placing an order
When you place an order on our website, you are making an offer to purchase the selected item at the listed price. Your order is confirmed only when you receive an order confirmation email or message from us.
We reserve the right to cancel any order at our discretion — for any reason, including but not limited to pricing errors, stock unavailability, suspected fraud, or any other circumstance we deem appropriate. If your order is cancelled, you will be notified and any payment made will be fully refunded within 7 working days.
Pricing
All prices on backbenchtheory.com are listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
Prices can change at any time without prior notice. The price you pay is the price shown at the time you complete your order. We are not obligated to honour prices that have changed after your order is confirmed.
We are not responsible for pricing errors on the website. If an item is listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error or system issue, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund.
Payment
We accept all major payment methods including UPI, debit/credit cards, net banking, and cash on delivery (COD). All online payments are processed securely through Razorpay. We do not store your payment details on our servers.
COD orders are subject to an additional handling charge, which will be displayed at checkout.
Shipping
We ship pan-India only. Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary depending on your location and the courier partner. We are not responsible for delays caused by courier partners, natural events, or circumstances beyond our control.
Once your order is dispatched, a tracking link will be shared with you. If you are unavailable at the time of delivery, the courier partner will attempt redelivery. Unclaimed packages returned to us may incur a reshipping charge.

Returns and replacements
All sales are final. We do not accept returns or issue refunds. Replacements are offered under specific conditions outlined in our Returns and Refund Policy. Please read it carefully before placing your order.
Intellectual property
All content on backbenchtheory.com — including but not limited to designs, graphics, photographs, text, logos, and brand identity — is the exclusive property of Backbench Theory.
You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, modify, sell, or use any of our content for any purpose without our prior written permission. This includes our tee designs, product photography, website copy, and the Backbench Theory name and logo.
Unauthorised use of our intellectual property will be treated seriously and may result in legal action.
Limitation of liability
Backbench Theory will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our website or products. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from a purchase shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product in question.
We do not guarantee that our website will be available at all times, free of errors, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the website at any time without notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
